WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. What version of the Bible do you use?
X We accept all versions of the Bible that hold true to God’s Word. If you only have an app on your phone, that’s fine too.
  2. Where should I park?
X Visitor parking is on the South West Avenue side of the building. Our offices, Sunday School rooms, Children’s Ministry, and the Library Cafe are all located on this side. Handicapped parking is on the Cross Street side. If you park on that side, you will enter by our Family Life Center. View Campus Map
  3. What do I do when I arrive?
X We recommend first checking in at the Welcome Desk. You can give us your contact info so we can get you more information on our church. If you’ve got some time to spare before Sunday School/Worship, check out our coffee shop inside the Library.
  4. What should I wear?
X Wear what you normally wear. We’re more concerned with meeting you than your attire. At Immanuel, you’ll see every style of clothing, from jackets and ties to jeans and t-shirts.
  5. What are your beliefs?
X You can learn all about our beliefs by clicking HERE.
  6. What time should I arrive?
X We recommend you arrive at least 10 minutes before Sunday School or Worship so you’ll have time to find your classroom and get settled. If you get here early enough you can mingle with other members and visitors while sipping some freshly brewed coffee from our Library Cafe.
  7. How long is the service?
X Each service is approximately 1 hour (music + sermon).
  8. What if I still have questions?
X Call the church offices at (870) 862-4264 or shoot us an email on the contact page.
  9. What style of music is used?
X Our 8:15 AM service is traditional, hymnal style. Our 10:30 AM service is more casual, with contemporary worship led by our worship band.
  10. What will my younger kids do while I’m at worship?
X While older children and youth attend the regular worship services, your younger childern could be in special programs designed just for them with caring teachers who want to show them Jesus’ love. If your children are 3 or under, we offer Extended Care for them in the nursery. Children between 4-years-old and 3rd grade are invited to try our Kids Own Worship experience. It’s at the same time as our Contemporary Service in the Student Center. Preschool and Children’s Ministries, Student Ministry.
  11. What type of church is Immanuel?
X Immanuel is a Southern Baptist Church that welcomes people from all church backgrounds or who have no church background.

Just For Parents

Where do kids go?
Kids coming to IBC will enter the main door on S. West Ave, take a right and head to the welcome desk on the first floor. From there, they will be directed to the appropriate classroom space.

Where do parents park?
Parents can park on any of our lots, but the one nearest the children's building is the west parking lot across from the flag poles, near the main entry.

Who will be with my children?
Our employees and volunteers are committed, growing believers who love Jesus and children! They would love to partner with you and your kids. We welcome you to "The Spot" and would love to partner with you and your kids. We will love them, teach them God's Word, worship with them, grow with them, comfort them, play with them, and pray for them. (NOTE: All volunteers and employees working with minors in our church have passed background checks).

Is there childcare for my children during the worship services?
We have childcare (Extended Teaching Care) in both of our morning services on Sunday for babies through 3 year olds. At the beginning of the Classic Service, the pastor does a children's sermon. We also have Kids' Own Worship during the contemporary service. This is for 4 year olds - 3rd graders and takes place in our old Sanctuary. There are signs marking the way. Children in KOW are picked up by their parents following the service in the Old Sanctuary. Children in Extended Teaching Care will need to be picked up by a parent in their ETC room. Older siblings are not allowed to pick up children.

What resources are available?
We have printed and media resources available for our families. These include Parent Life Magazine, Right Now Media, and a Children's and Young Reader section in the library as well as a Student/Parent NewsletterClick Here

Do you have mid week programming for children?
Yes, lots!

Relate
Every Wednesday at 6:00, we share a meal together and then gear up for fun as we gather around the word, greet through games and worship God. The mission of Relate is to help students know God better and make Him know and we do that by looking at how God and the Bible relate to our lives and how we relate to the world.
